About

The Scientific and Educational Center “Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Technologies” (SEC “AIQT”) was established at South Ural State University in 2021. The SEC includes a Supercomputer Modeling Laboratory with a Supercomputer Center developing high-performance computing at SUSU since May 26, 2010.

SEC provides high-level software services for engineering design and analysis, available via the Internet and used in the educational process and scientific research.

The main interested sectors of the economy and employers are: mechanical engineering, metallurgy and metalworking, fuel and energy complex, light industry, production of supercomputers and software. Supercomputers are at the center of the scientific life of the University, allowing for the most complex calculations for calculations in the field of engineering, natural sciences, human sciences and IT. Currently, over 250 research tasks are being solved on SUSU supercomputers. SUSU supercomputers occupy high positions in performance ratings among Russian and foreign supercomputers. SUSU supercomputers help solve scientific problems, are used in education and for commercial purposes for calculations of University partners.

SEC “AIQT” goals

• Solving problems of supercomputer modeling to improve energy and resource efficiency of high-tech sectors of the economy and social sphere.
• Interaction and coordination with other centers and laboratories of supercomputer modeling of the Russian Federation and foreign countries.
• Development of end-to-end design technologies using supercomputer and distributed computing systems to create innovative energy – and resource-saving industrial technologies.
• Development of theoretical and practical foundation for building qualitatively new highly-scalable methods and algorithms for data mining on supercomputers of Trans-PetaFLOP performance level.
• Research in the field of methods of teaching modern technologies of supercomputer modeling.
